Today I am sharing my natural skin care K-Beauty inspired routine and the organic products I use and love for fine lines and wrinkles, hydration and radiance.

Our skin is the largest organ of our body. It is living and breathing, and although not a sponge, what we apply externally to our dermis, has the potential to become absorbed internally. Many of the products we use day to day, unknowingly contain toxic chemicals that can disrupt hormone function, affect our immune and reproductive systems, and even cause cancer. Which is why it is important to always read labels, know which ingredients to avoid, and stick to plant and fruit based, natural skin care alternatives.

As I began to investigate natural skin care, not only did I want to know what ingredients I was applying, but I also wanted to be conscious of why I was applying it, and how to maximize the benefits of the ingredients. I mean, let’s be honest, there are countless choices available to us on the market from toners, to serums, masks and emulsions! I began asking myself, “BUT WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?!” This led me to research the Korean K Beauty Routine and I became fascinated by the mindset that skin care is all about pampering yourself.

Nourishing our skin is an act of self love. It is just as important, to me, as the food we eat, physical exercise, and sleep. Because of this self care, I feel more confident in my skin, and I hope that this article inspires YOU to feel more confident in yours.

So if you are ready to take your skin to radiant, healthy and hydrated levels then READ ON!

A peek inside Kate Nelle's natural skin care routine. The organic products used for fine lines and wrinkles, hydration and radiance. Why you should consider the switch to natural and where to buy.

With a K Beauty type natural skin care regimen, think of every step as prepping your skin for the next step. A general rule of thumb is — you move from the lightest, most watery based product to the thickest, if you ever get confused as which order to apply in.

The Double Cleanse

The secret to flawless radiant skin, starts with double cleansing. I know this might seem implausible for the girl on the go, but trust me. Double cleansing is very effective in removing all stubborn grime and debris, while creating a clean base for your skin to fully absorb the benefits of the ingredients in your products. And it will take you 60 seconds or less.

First, begin by massaging an oil based cleanser directly onto dry skin. I like Patyka’s Remarkable Cleansing Oil. This contains Rosehip and Vitamin E oils, to effortlessly remove any makeup, sunscreen, or oil, as well as help moisturize the skin. It’s also non-greasy, making this a no-fuss application.

Next, refresh your skin by massaging a foam based cleanser directly on top of your oil based cleanser to remove impurities like sweat and dirt. I love Patyka’s Cleansing Perfection Foam. It is formulated with a complex of five fruit acids to gently stimulate cell renewal, and to boost smoothness, tone and clarity. Rinse both products together and it will leave your skin feeling so fresh and so clean.

Exfoliate for Brighter Skin

There are so many amazing benefits to exfoliating your skin, from increasing blood flow and circulation, to preventing wrinkles, to cleaning out clogged pores, and sloughing off dead skin! Can we get an AMEN for exfoliants?! They are hard workers! For more brighter, glowing skin, I LOVE the daily Regenerating Cleanser by Tata Harper. Massage this onto dry skin in circular motions to fully activate and polish. The citrus fragrance is so refreshing. I cannot live without this product natural skin care product. Read the reviews, it speaks for itself!

Tone It Up

When I think of toners, I think of being 15 and applying the astringent based ones to my acne. However, the toners of today help balance your PH levels and hydrate your skin. After cleansing so many times, your skin becomes more alkaline and fragile to inflammation. With a toner, the skin becomes prepped for the following products to be absorbed easier. Look for a gentle and alcohol free natural skin care formula, like Ptyka’s Smoothing Revitalizer Toner. It helps revitalize the skin to look and feel plumper, softer and more even toned. Plus it feels beyond refreshing on your clean skin!

Apply a Serum

Serum is a highly concentrated formula containing active ingredients that work to target specific skin care concerns, such as discoloration, wrinkles, or hydration. It is applied before you moisturize with the intent of delivering these powerful ingredients directly into the skin for deeper penetration. I have a few different serums I use. Volition Beauty Serum with snow mushrooms can hold nearly 500 times their weight in water, delivering exceptional moisture. It also targets dryness, pores and fine lines and wrinkles.  This serum is certified clean beauty at Sephora. Tata Harper has an amazing serum as well. I then apply Biossance’s Squalane and Vitamin C Oil (not a serum) to brighten, firm and even skin tone.

Add in a Natural Skin Care Mask

You could do this twice a week for some extra TLC.  The purpose of your mask depends on what your skin needs. You could use one for break outs, hydration, or brightening. Currently, I use Tata Harper’s Resurfing Mask. This mask is an instant solution for dull skin. Sheet masks are great to use at this step. I have a post coming all about these, so stay tuned! In the meantime, I’ve linked to a few of my clean beauty favorites!

Don’t Forget to Apply the Eye Cream

Our eyes have very delicate skin that requires specific care. Depending on the eye cream, you could focus on everything from fine lines and wrinkles to dark circles. I love Tata Harper’s Restorative Eye Cream. It is a daily age defying treatment helping brighten and soften the area around the eyes. Just apply in a light patting motion on the upper and lower eye lids AM and PM. Make sure not to tug or pull on this skin as it can cause wrinkles. Tata recommends also applying around your lips to reduce vertical lip lines.

Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!

Kate Nelle Blog talking about natural, organic skin care products and her day and night k beauty inspired skin routine. She is moisturizing her skin with Biossance Squalane + Probiotic Gel moisturizer.

This last step locks in moisture and is key for supple skin. There are so many great moisturizers out there, but one I found that I am currently loving is the Biossance Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer. I found this one off of EWG.ORG, which is a website dedicated to verifying products with natural and safe ingredients. It is a weightless gel moisturizer infused with squalene and probiotic technology to help restore naturally healthy-looking complexion. It supports the skin barrier and reduces the effects of daytime stressors. I feel like since using this, my skin has looked brighter and more balanced.

Sport Natural Skin Care SPF

Baz Luhrmann said, “If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.” We should be wearing sunscreen every day to protect our skin from UV rays that cause sun damage, premature aging and skin cancer. I have been looking for a natural and safe sunscreen and came across the Beekman 1802 Triple Milk Primer from the EWG.ORG website. It has an SPF of 35 and is an oil-free broad-spectrum zinc oxide sunscreen with UVA/UVB filters. It is formulated without harsh chemicals keeping your skin not only protected but safe. To be honest, I’m not crazy about the fragrance and probably won’y be purchasing again after I go through this bottle. One sunscreen I do love however is the Coola Full Spectrum Sun Silk Drops SPF 30. This is certified clean beauty at Sephora.

I hope you found this article helpful, and if you have any other natural skin care product recommendations, I would LOVE to hear from you in the comments down below! As always thank you for reading!!
